Six websites · Three registers · All live

Don’t look at pictures.
Open them.

These are not mockups or screenshots. Each one is a real website at its own address, built the way I would build yours, hosted on the same free Cloudflare plan a small brochure site costs nothing to run on. Click any of them and use it.

Full of life

Colour, movement and personality, used because the business genuinely trades on atmosphere. Every animation here respects the visitor’s reduced-motion setting — turn that on and both sites go completely still.

ROSSURA Open the live site ↗

Restaurant · Demonstration site

Rossura

A dining room you can feel before you read anything. Embers drift behind the headline, the menu reveals itself as you scroll, and the page knows what time it is — the status line reads “open now, last orders at 22:15” or tells you when the next service starts, worked out live rather than typed in once and forgotten.

The decision worth stealing
The reservation action never leaves the screen. Atmosphere and a working booking path are not a trade-off; most restaurant sites simply treat them as one.
Where the photographs would go
The fire study is generated in CSS. On a real build that is a photographer’s job, and it is the single biggest upgrade a restaurant site can buy.
L U M E Open the live site ↗

Appointment-based services · Demonstration site

Lume

The same energy, spent differently. No photographs at all, and it does not read as unfinished — colour, a soft moving hero, generous space and a marquee of small honest claims do the work instead. Pick a time in the green band and the page answers you.

The decision worth stealing
“No course of twelve” sits in the first screen. Saying out loud the thing your competitors quietly do is more persuasive than any number of soothing adjectives.
What it proves
A design with no photo-shaped holes in it beats a design with holes filled by stock imagery. That route is open to any business still waiting on a photographer.

Somewhere in between

Strong character, but every flourish is doing a job. One genuinely useful interactive piece each, and no decoration that exists only to move.

BRIGHT SPARK Open the live site ↗

Contractor · Demonstration site

Bright Spark

Big type, hard colour, and prices published where a homeowner can find them. The coverage checker is the point: type a town and it answers immediately, rather than making someone fill in a form to discover the trade does not come to them.

The decision worth stealing
Answer the disqualifying question first. Losing the wrong enquiry in two seconds is worth more than collecting it and disappointing someone next Tuesday.
Restraint, even here
Nothing on the page animates. The energy comes from scale and contrast, which cost no load time and make nobody motion-sick.
Fold & Grain Open the live site ↗

Small retail · Demonstration site

Fold & Grain

A shop built around a short range on purpose. The basket counts, because a basket that does not count teaches a visitor nothing about how the shop would feel. Product copy admits what each thing is instead of describing a lifestyle.

The decision worth stealing
“Nineteen products, and that is the entire range” turns a limitation into the reason to trust the shop. Fewer choices are easier to sell than more.
What a real launch would need
Catalogue data, product photography, a checkout provider and a returns policy you can honour. Transaction fees and subscriptions belong to the client and are scoped separately.

Built with restraint

Quiet on purpose, and the harder thing to get right. There is no animation in either of these files at all — not disabled, not reduced. Absent.

Ardmore & Kelly Open the live site ↗

Professional practice · Demonstration site

Ardmore & Kelly

A two-tier header, a centred masthead and hairline rules. It looks like a firm that has been there a while, which is a structural signal rather than a decorative one. Fees are published, including the awkward one.

The decision worth stealing
Publishing a starting fee for the five things people ring about. Silence on price does not make anyone call to find out; it makes them assume they cannot afford you.
Why so still
Movement reads as marketing. For a business selling judgement, the absence of it is the message — and it makes the page faster and easier to read.
Nimbus Open the live site ↗

Service-led product page · Demonstration site

Nimbus

Restraint in a different register: systematic rather than editorial. One accent colour, one grid, tabular numerals, and the product drawn as the product — a ledger with twelve unreconciled items in it — rather than a photograph of somebody smiling at a laptop.

The decision worth stealing
The FAQ answers “what happens to my data if I leave?” before anyone asks. Volunteering the uncomfortable answer is the cheapest trust you will ever buy.
What it is not
A marketing page design only. There is no accounting software behind it, nothing can be signed up for, and the figures in the interface are invented.

In their words

Three people who let me build them a website.

Not paraphrased, not aggregated, not invented. When there are more, there will be more.

“The experience was breathtakingly easy. We hopped on a quick call, discussed what I wanted, and saw a mock-up in days.”

“Pageory’s expertise extends beyond web design. They’ve mastered human interaction, and in a world increasingly bloated with AI that’s more valuable than ever.”

How they are built, and what that costs

Every one of the six is hand-written HTML and CSS in a single file. No framework, no page builder, no cookie banner, and between them they make zero requests to anybody else’s server — no font service, no analytics, no chat widget. That is why they appear instantly on a phone with two bars of signal.

All six are hosted on Cloudflare Pages, which for a site this size costs nothing at all. It is the same platform this website runs on. Hosting is not where your money should go; the design, the words and the person who answers when something breaks are.

Each one also went through the same pre-launch checks a real client build does: layout at phone, tablet and desktop widths, colour contrast measured on every piece of text on the page, keyboard navigation, and reduced motion respected. That list is written out in full.

Yours would not look like any of these. That is rather the point of six — they exist to show a range of decisions, so you can say “that, but quieter” and mean something specific.

No obligation. A concrete starting point.

Let’s see what yours could look like.
